Update

​Hello Church Family,
 
I am sure that most of you have either seen or are aware of the plan that the governor has introduced in order to reopen the state. Being aware of this, you are probably also curious about what the plan is for our church concerning this same matter.
 
Let me begin with the pertinent information that has been given by the governor:
 

•  As of May 1, Phase 1 will begin with reopening of many businesses up to 25% capacity with social distancing measures in place
• Churches are allowed to resume worship at reduced capacity and with some limitations as long as social distancing is continued
• Phase 2 will begin May 18 and more businesses will be allowed to reopen up to a 50% capacity
• Before beginning Phase 2 the Covid-19 situation will be readdressed concerning whether or not there is a spike or decrease in the overall numbers
• Elderly people are encouraged to remain home during Phase 1

 
At this point, we are left as a church to manage the gap between what is allowed and what we know to be safe. In order to do that, our elders will have to consider all of the information that is available. They will then introduce a plan in order to reopen our church. At that point, we will immediately let the church know what that plan is.
 
I think that it is safe to say that we all want to gather again as soon as possible. It is also true that loving God fully requires us to love our neighbor and therefore try to keep our congregation safe. As we attempt to balance these issues and look forward, please pray for us and for the entire church.
