Jesus called Chris to salvation through a Ken Freeman rally in June 1994 and
has been a member of First Baptist Church
since
1996. In his time at FBC, Chris has been actively involved in Youth
Ministry as a student, teacher, volunteer,
and—since
December 2004—as the Minister to Students. Chris comes from a family in
ministry; his father and brother
both serve on other
church staffs in ministry positions. Chris’ passion is to train young people
to be disciples of Christ,
loving God and serving as
God’s people are commanded in Holy Scripture.
Family: Chris
and his wife, Kristen, were high school sweethearts and have been together
since 1994. They were married in
July 1998 and have three sons: Jesse, Aaron, and Joshua.
Favorite Part of
Youth Ministry:
My favorite thing about youth ministry is “seeing the light come on”. When
a young person
comes to an understanding of God’s Grace, the Truth of His Word, or
whatever—that is genuinely moving and so exciting!
Favorite TV show: When
I have time to watch TV, I make a point to catch 24 and The Office. I’ve
also gotten into
Hannity & Colmes. Of course, if the Mavericks or Cowboys are on, everything
else gets DVRed.
Favorite recent/old movie: I
love movies! Old...new...it doesn’t matter—I love ‘em. Well...I love good
ones, that is.
I’m a big
fan of superhero movies...love a good war movie, too.
Favorite Food:
I
like meat...especially off the grill.
Favorite Childhood Cartoon:
My favorite cartoon when I was a kid...so many to choose from...G. I.

Kandice
has been a member of
First Baptist Church since 2001. She has served in
various areas of the Church -- including
teaching Sunday School in the Preschool and
Youth Departments. Kandice has served in the Corporate
Accounting Field
for the past 7 years for various companies
in various industries. Kandice felt that she was being led
to serve in the
children's
ministries for several years and
finally the Lord presented her with the opportunity to serve
as the Bible Academy
Director here
at FBC Mesquite. She
loves to work with children and hopes to play a part in
laying a strong Christian
foundation so that
each child may
come to know the Lord one day in the near future.

Mishea has been a member of First
Baptist Church since 2006. She has served as a teacher of Sunday
School in the Preschool
area. Mishea currently works in the Mortgage Field with ViewPoint
Bankers Mortgage, which she has been there for the past
10 years. Mishea felt that she was being led to serve in the preschool
ministries and the Lord presented her with the
opportunity to serve as the Preschool Coordinator here at FBC Mesquite.
She loves to work with children and is delighted to
be able to work as Preschool Coordinator.
